Dear Brother and Sister Officers,

I am writing this letter on behalf of two of my co-workers,  Sgt. Sean
Lydon and Kristine Lydon,  of the Braintree Police Department who could
use your help.  Sean and Kristine Lydon gave birth to their daughter
Kyleigh about five and a half years ago.  Shortly after birth Kyleigh
was diagnosed with Classical Galactosemia.

Galactosemia is too much galactose in the blood. This accumulation is
poison to the body and causes serious complications such as; Liver
Failure, Kidney Failure and Brain Damage. There is currently no cure or
treatment for Galactosemia.

Because this disease is so rare, it is often referred to as an "orphan's
disease", as there is minimal funding for research.  Only 1 in 80,000
people are diagnosed with Classic Galactosemia.

In order to increase Kyleigh's chance for survival Sean and Kristine
have formed a non-profit organization called Kyleigh's Cure, to raise
money to find a cure.

We are planning a fundraiser for Friday, September 10th, 2010 at 7 P.M.
which will be held at Florian Hall.  Florian Hall is located at 55
Hallet Street, Dorchester.

Tickets will be $25 each and the night will include a DJ, Drawings,
Dancing, and a Cash Bar.  Tables of 10 can be purchased as well as ads
in the Kyleigh's Cure ad book.  Send an email for information.

Any donation you can make to Kyleigh's cure is greatly appreciated.

The money raised will go directly to Dr. Gerard Berry at Children's
Hospital Boston to be used to fund current research with the hopes of
getting closer to a cure for Galactosemia.

Please visit Kyleigh's Cure website at www.kyleighscure.com to purchase
tickets or make a donation.

Sincerely,

Friends of the Lydon Family
